In August 2015, Steve Sigloch joined the Grocery Services Inc. management team as the Chief Operating Officer and is responsible for Business development, implementing new strategies, information services, operational tools and store functions. Before becoming part of the management team, Steve served as a Lieutenant Colonel (Combat Engineer) in the U.S. Army with over 21 years of Active Federal Service to his Country. Steve’s success in the military resulted in being awarded the Bronze Star Medal. Steve’s an accomplished professional with a proven ability to develop and implement strategies that support our business and financial objectives.
Steve earned his Bachelor of Science in Construction Science from Texas A&M University, a Masters of Science in Engineering Management from the University of Missouri at Rolla, and a Master of Arts in National Security and Strategic Studies from the Naval War College.
In August 2018, Huandong ‘Mary’ Faris joined the Grocery Services Inc. Management team as the Chief Financial Officer and is responsible for the financial, risk management operations, and HR of the company. Before joining Grocery Services, Mary served three years as Senior Financial Accountant at Houston Methodist Headquarters and was responsible for statistics of eight hospitals, State and Federal reporting of Charity Care and other financial functions. Mary also served as CFO with Hearing Aid Express, Inc. for over ten years and was responsible for financial reporting, HR, business planning, and development. In addition to her professional career, Mary serves on boards of Houston CPA Society CFO/Controller Conference committee and AFWA Houston chapter. In addition to her professional career, Mary serves on the executive board of FHPW (Federation of Houston Professional Women) and AFWA (Accounting & Financial Women’s Alliance), and she is also a committee member of Houston CPA society. Mary is the recipient of the 2018 Women of Excellence from FHPW for her leadership and deep commitment to helping other women succeed.
Mary earned her associated degree in International Business from Tianjin University of Finance and Economics in China, Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from the University of Houston Downtown, Master of Business Administration in Management from the University of Houston Victoria. Mary is also a Certified Public Accountant in Texas.
Jimmy E Smith Jr. joined Grocery Services Inc. in May 2017 as the General Manager and plays a vital role in the development and execution of strategy to support the growth of the Company. In this role, Jim is responsible for asset protection, enforcing both local and federal requirements and codes, maintaining the staff, implementing training procedures, and assisting in developing initiatives for the future of our Company. Prior to joining Grocery Services, Jim served as a U.S. Army First Sergeant (Field Artilleryman) with over 25 years of active Federal Service to his Country. Jim’s ability to train, coach, lead and develop Soldiers in Combat earned him the Bronze Star Medal. Jim is an accomplished leader with an innate ability to motivate those around him by providing necessary resources to ensure their success. Jim applies his skills as a superb team builder, mentor, and leader; to the benefit of our Company.
Marisela Coronado started in Grocery Services Inc. more than 22 years ago and has gained a depth of experience through multiple roles at GSI. Marisela plans and directs day-to-day operations at six stores, she develops strategies to improve customer service, drive store sales and increase profitability.
Monica Rodriguez started in Grocery Services Inc. more than five years ago. Monica ensures customer needs are met, complaints are resolved, and service is quick and efficient. Monica plans and directs day-to-day operations at six stores, she develops strategies to improve customer service, drive store sales and increase profitability. Prior to her role at GSI, Monica served as the Administrative Assistant for Primo Installation from 2004-2011.
She has an Associates in Business Administration from MTI College of Business and Technology.
Mayra Rodriguez is a Manager within Grocery Services Inc. and is responsible for the operations of 6 stores in Houston. Mayra started working for GSI in 2011 as a Cashier/Clerk and has gained a depth of experience through the key roles as an Ordering Clerk, Accounting/Payroll Specialist, Human Resources Coordinator and now a Manager. Mayra’s demonstrated exceptional customer service, expert organizational skills and desire to excel, led to her advanced promotion within the Company.
Prior to her current role, Mayra progressed through several leadership positions before serving as our Manager; she obtained certifications and licensures such as a Massage Therapist, Cosmetologist, Property and Casualty license, and QuickBooks.
Yesenia Cruz is a Manager within Grocery Services Inc. and is responsible for the operations of 6 stores in Houston. Yesenia excels at all levels of organization, leads by example, builds diverse teams, earns respect and follows through on commitments. Prior to her current role, Yesenia managed multiple organizations through significant growth, which resulted in improved systems and team cohesiveness; she obtained certifications and licensures in Cosmetology and Property and Casualty (P&C) Insurance.
Yesenia has attended North Harris College and has also attended American Beauty School.
Nelly Almaguer started in Grocery Services Inc. more than sixteen years ago. Due to Nelly’s exceptional work ethic and ability to deliver the highest quality customer service experience, she was hand-selected as the Manager of all eight Grocery Services South stores. Nelly plans and directs day-to-day operations at the GSS; she develops strategies to improve customer service, drive store sales, manages personnel, stocking, supply, increases profitability and is responsible for equipment maintenance. Prior to her role at GSS, Nelly studied tourism and graduated as a Touristic Administrator in Aguascalientes Mexico.
Assistant Store Manager
Samantha Senica is an Assistant Manager within Grocery Services and is responsible for the operations of eight stores in South Texas. Samantha came on board with GSS in April 2020 and is excited to share her leadership abilities, excellent people skills, as well as her drive and determination to enhance our customer’s shopping experience. Prior to joining Grocery Services, Samantha held various leadership roles at James Avery, Russo’s Pizzeria, and Walgreens. Samantha looks forward to bringing her energetic style, passion for customer service, and desire to succeed to Grocery Services.
David Soto joined the Grocery Services team in November 2018 and assumed the role of Store Manager in El Paso. He is responsible for the day-to-day operations of six stores in El Paso. David previously worked in the hospitality industry for several years. Most recently in Colorado for Devil’s Thumb Ranch as a Lodging Manager. David looks forward to providing excellent customer services, helping the WIC community of El Paso and creating a welcoming environment for all Bryant’s Market locations.

Isiss came on board with GSS on January 2019 and is excited to share her ten years of customer experience with the team. Previously, Isiss worked for Eddie Bryant Enterprises in which she held the position of Purchaser and Accounts Payable from 2015-2018. Isiss looks forward to bringing her energetic style, passion for customer service and desire to succeed.
