WIC Information

For over 40 years, families like yours have depended on the friendly experts at WIC to help you make amazing kids. Texas WIC supports you and your child from pregnancy to delivery to raising a toddler and up until your child’s 5th birthday.

Texas WIC:

  • Connects you to other families to talk about healthy goals.
  • Answers your questions about good nutrition for your family.
  • Gives you personal attention from WIC breastfeeding experts, and extra benefits like breast pumps and special food packages.
  • Helps you find other health-care services near you.
  • Is fun for the whole family — including dads!

WIC is open to many incomes and families. If you are on Medicaid, TANF, or SNAP you may meet the income eligibility guidelines for WIC. If you don’t qualify for these programs, you may still qualify for WIC by meeting the income guidelines for your household.

WIC benefits are for:

  • Pregnant women
  • Breastfeeding women
  • Women who had a baby within the last six months
  • Infants
  • Children up to their 5th birthday

*A pregnant woman’s household is increased by the number of infants she is expecting. For more than six household members, or if you have any income questions, call your local WIC clinic.

Jimmy E Smith Jr.

General Manager

Jimmy E Smith Jr. joined Grocery Services Inc. in May 2017 as the General Manager and plays a vital role in the development and execution of strategy to support the growth of the Company. In this role, Jim is responsible for asset protection, enforcing both local and federal requirements and codes, maintaining the staff, implementing training procedures, and assisting in developing initiatives for the future of our Company. Prior to joining Grocery Services, Jim served as a U.S. Army First Sergeant (Field Artilleryman) with over 25 years of Active Federal Service to his Country. Jim's ability to train, coach, lead and develop Soldiers in Combat earned him the Bronze Star Medal. Jim is an accomplished leader with an innate ability to motivate those around him by providing necessary resources to ensure their success. Jim applies his skills as a superb team builder, mentor, and leader; to the benefit of our Company.

Steve Sigloch

President

In August 2015, Steve Sigloch joined the Grocery Services Inc. management team as the Company President and is responsible for Business development, implementing new strategies, information services, operational tools and store functions. Before becoming part of the management team, Steve served as a Lieutenant Colonel (Combat Engineer) in the U.S. Army with over 21 years of Active Federal Service to his Country. Steve's success in the military resulted in being awarded the Bronze Star Medal. Steve's an accomplished professional with a proven ability to develop and implement strategies that support our business and financial objectives. Steve earned his Bachelor of Science in Construction Science from Texas A&M University, a Masters of Science in Engineering Management from the University of Missouri at Rolla, and a Master of Arts in National Security and Strategic Studies from the Naval War College.
